Investing in the Future: USSFCU with Communities in Schools' Career Fair
The United States Senate Federal Credit Union (USSFCU) was delighted to be invited by Communities in Schools of NOVA to participate in a Career Fair Day at Alexandria City High School's Minnie Howard Campus.
Three representatives from the credit union interacted with over 80 students, educating them on their career paths and the variety of job opportunities within the credit union industry – providing the young inquiring minds with their insights, experiences, and advice.
Representatives included April Christian, Director of People & Culture, on the importance of Human Resources and integral role it plays in employee-employer success; Andrea Londono, Marketing Assistant, on the multitude of roles within the growing field of digital marketing; and Chris Martin, IT Manager, on the dynamic and everchanging field of information technology.
Communities in Schools of NOVA's mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. In part they seek to accomplish this vision by providing opportunities for the community in events such as these to showcase educational and vocational pathways.
