On October 29, the United States Senate Federal Credit Union attended the Aspen Institute's employee benefit and wellness fair at their Washington, DC headquarters.
The Aspen Institute is celebrating their own milestone anniversary of 75 years as an international nonprofit think tank centered on a mission to "drive change through dialogue, leadership, and action to solve the greatest challenges of our time". The Institute was founded in 1949 by Chicago industrialist Walter Paepcke and his wife Elizabeth, when they brought together business leaders, artists, scholars, and public intellections in Aspen, Colorado with a vision to build a community of leaders that recaptured what he called the "eternal verities": the values that guided them intellectually, ethically, and spiritually. Today, the Aspen Institute operates over 50 programs spanning policy, public engagement, leadership, and youth and young adult initiatives through nonpartisan analysis and dialogue across key societal issues.
We enjoyed educating Aspen Institute employees on the benefits of USSFCU membership, as well as sharing our own mission in striving to improve our members' financial wellness throughout all life stages and circumstances through the integration of sustainability and security in financial solutions. We additionally spoke on our own goal of enhancing financial inclusion, wellness, and literacy through education and empowerment through the USSFCU Foundation in line with the Aspen Institute programs that promote financial empowerment and sustainability, leaving the day with a stronger partnership and collaborative spirit.
